Founded by the Belgian Backer family, De Backer's opened its first store in Lille, France, in 1986. In 1989, it expanded to Syria through ZUHA Group, and continued growing across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, France, Belgium, Algeria, Libya, Sudan, and Egypt.
A new chapter
In 2012, De Backer's established production facilities and brands in Egypt under Al Khomasia, leading to 13 stores in key markets. Today, it operates across seven Egyptian governorates, blending European elegance with Middle Eastern charm.
